Ciência e Tecnologia no Parque / Science and Technology in the Park

O Parque de Ciência e Tecnologia da USP situa-se dentro de importante área de preservação ambiental, o Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga, criado com o objetivo de ampliar a interação entre a universidade e a população e divulgar o conhecimento produzido de forma descontraída. Este livro, bilíngue e fartamente ilustrado com mapas e fotos do local, traz um histórico da ocupação da área ao longo dos anos e das pesquisas lá realizadas. Apresenta também o projeto de reconversão que pressupõe o restauro das edificações históricas e a construção de um moderno complexo para abrigar atividades interativas que utilizam tecnologias de ponta, em parceria com a iniciativa privada. Sua realização contribuirá significativamente para o resgate da cidadania, dos princípios éticos e morais imprescindíveis para a participação consciente de cada indivíduo no traçado das políticas públicas do país.

The Science and Technology Park of USP (CienTec Park) is located within an important environmental preservation area, the State Park of Ipiranga Springs, created with the objective of expanding the interaction between the university and the population and disseminating the knowledge produced in a fun way. This book, bilingual and abundantly illustrated with maps and photos of the place, brings the history of the occupation of the area over the years and the researches conducted there. It also presents the project that presupposes the restoration of historic buildings and the construction of a modern complex to house interactive activities that use cutting-edge technologies, in partnership with the private sector. Its realization will contribute significantly to the rescue of citizenship, of the ethical and moral principles that are essential for the conscious participation of each individual in the public policies in the country.
